Melvine and I are grateful to God for the health and strength to be able to attend morning worship at our church. We were pleased to see our friends we have known for many years as well as newer friends we have met in recent months.
Krissy and Chris McKenzie met us at our car. They helped Melvine and me with our Rollator walkers. As we enter the vestibule we were greeted by our greeters, Clarke Bennett, Watson Fowler, Ken and Jeanette Phillips, and Claudia Strickland. I noticed that there is now a tent where greeters are there with gifts for newcomers to our church.
Chris and Krissy McKenzie's son, James, helped us as we departed church today. He walked our Rollator walkers down to the lower level of the church where Stephanie's Place is located. James is senior in high school and has joined the Navy to become a nonnuclear engineer. That sounds impressive. He is a very special guy and we love him, and his brothers, Chase, and David, as well as his sister Holly, her husband Ricky, and twin boys.
We had a lot of newcomers to our church today. What a welcomed sight.
The singing, the selection of songs and hymns, and worship was especially meaningful. The congregation seemed to enter in to the praise and worship time which is led by our pastor and the worship team. Arlette plays the keyboard and she does so with excellence. Nick Moody plays the guitar and he plays it well. It is evident that a lot of planning has gone into the music ministry of our church. The words (lyrics) to the songs are well-coordinated by the person who puts them on the big screen.
Pastor Terry Kesling always has a good message. He prepares well and his delivery is excellent.
The Spirit of the Lord was in our Worship. Following the message, there was a good response for people to come for prayer. There were those who came to be saved, healed, delivered, and find comfort for their troubled hearts. Our pastor does not hurry and gives the Holy Spirit freedom to work in the hearts of the people.
After church we were invited to an indoor picnic in Stephanie's Place, our fellowship hall. The room was filled with people, and the food was so good. I got my first pieces of water melon. How sweet it was. I like to add a tab bit of salt to my pieces of water melon.
Pastor Terry took the time to give us the State of the Church report while we continued eating. He did a good job in giving us a comprehensive statement of where we have been and where we are going. He gave a financial report, and shared with us things that are needed to purchase, e. g. , a new sound system, a handicap ramp with with a cover, resurfacing the parking lot, and adding more parking spaces near where we want to have a new handicap ramp with a cover. It will take a miracle for us to get all of these things done. But we believe in the God of Miracles. He is just waiting for us to trust Him for more. Paul's benediction in Ephesians 3:20 is one example of what God can do.
