On Thursday, November 5, 2015, I received a promotional card in the mail from Pacific Academy in Surrey, British Columbia. It was an invitation to the dedication of the Gordon McDonald Library. This dedication of this beautiful and large facility on the campus of Pacific Academy will take place on Thursday, November 12, at 7:30 p. m.
I have great admiration for Bishop Gordon McDonald who serves as the General Superintendent of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Canada. I have often called him "The Dan Betzer of the IPHC." Dan Betzer at one time was a news anchor for a television station, and he is a great communicator and preacher of Good News. He was the radio preacher for Revivaltime, the Assemblies of God National Radio Broadcast. He had succeeded the famous C. M. Ward who was a noted evangelist and preacher.
It occurred to me that I should look up Dan Betzer and see what he is doing these days. To my delight I found the website to his great church, First Assembly of God, Fort Myers, Florida. His vision is "Reach our City with the Gospel." I was caught up in the music of the DVD that was showing on their website. It is the kind of songs, with a full orchestra, that I could enjoy every week. What's more Dan Betzer shared a challenging message on "One Human Right." He is talking about the fact that everybody has the right to hear the Gospel. He makes it clear that there are only two places we can go following death--Heaven or Hell. He talks about their upcoming Missions Convention, and he explains what a Faith Promise Commitment is better than anyone I have ever heard. A faith promise commitment is not a pledge. It is not a pledge. The world will never be evangelized on our pledges--what we can give. That's what we can do. A Faith Promise Commitment is based on what God can do through us. It is supernatural, and if we are truly serious about Global Evangelism we must do it God's way and that involves the Supernatural.

Dan Betzer shows a brief video of inviting others to church. We invite our friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors to church to hear the Gospel and get saved, and to become disciples of Christ. We are interested in building the Kingdom of God, and when we do our churches will fill up.
I want to invite you to my church, i.e., the church where I am a member, and where my attendance is every Sunday. I rarely miss church. We have a new pastor and his family. My new pastor is Brad Cooper. He has a beautiful wife who is of Japanese descent, and four wonderful children who bear the genes of being Japanese and Americans.
The name of my church is Christian Life Worship Center. I have no role of leadership, although I have been declared Pastor Emeritus. I am there to support my Sunday school teachers, childrens and youth ministries, Men's and Women's Ministries, monthly giving to our IPHC missionaries, and contributions to other ministries like Falcon Childrens Home, etc. Most importantly, I am there to be a friend to my pastor and to lift up his hands.
Our Sunday school begins at 10 a. m. Melvine and I attend the Celebration Class, taught by Lavon and Arlette Revells. We meet in "Stephanie's Place" on the lower level of our education wing. Currently, we are studying the Book of Revelation. Our study guide, by Dr. David Jeremiah, is a book called Agents of the Apocalypse. However, we have classes for all age groups as well as a well-staffed nursery for your children.
This Sunday, November 8, our new pastor, Brad Cooper will be preaching. I have heard him preach only once, but I can tell you he is a gifted communicator. He is a man with a great vision for our church, city, colleges, and surrounded counties. Come and join with us in reaching Athens with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through Brad Cooper's leadership and the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit we will reach our city with the Gospel.
Christian Life Worship Center is located at 125 Kathwood Drive, Athens, Georgia 30607. Our church is located one mile north of the Athens Perimeter, called Loop 10. Look for Kathwood Drive. You will have to go across a railroad track. Our church is located on your immediate left. I hope to see you on Sunday.
