Last week Marguerite’s '16 year old’ left hip prosthesis “clicked” and started giving her pain. We had it x-rayed, but could not see an orthopedist then. In the meantime we got an appointment and have had the tests, pre op assessment and etc. done. She is scheduled for either a full hip replacement or maybe just the cap/ball replaced, on the current shaft that is already implanted in her left leg bone. The present cap/ball is some what crossed up or twisted in the hip socket. She has been/is in extreme pain and is not permitted to put her weight on her left foot. At present she is most of the time in a wheel chair.
Surgery is scheduled for Monday (20th) from 8 AM at the Patewood Hospital of the Greenville (SC) Health System. Dr. James Cameron is scheduled to do the surgery. He is a very eminent hip and knee replacement surgeon.
Kindly request our pastors and our many friends in our churches to remember her. Her almost 89 year old ‘male caretaker’ husband would also appreciate your prayers, too!
We feel badly that we will not be able to attend Dr. Steve Toler’s Seminar on Saturday at my home church at Redland. He is very outstanding.
Thanks and His Abiding Peace be with you,
Hobert H. Howard
