Home for me is when Melvine is here in our home. Her presence, love, and grace fills our home with a sweet aroma that satisfies me as her husband. Over the years of our marriage, over 59 years, I have endeavored to tell her every day that I love her. And she responds by saying, I love you too.
She came in my office today, Saturday, to look at the photo I got of Paula Sue Brown Edwards. She asked me to read what I had written about Sue and she expressed her shock that Sue has died. It is difficult for all of us to realize that Sue was 73 years old when she died. She asked me if I have Ben's mailing mailing address. She wants to send Ben a card. No, I do not have Ben's mailing address, but I told Melvine that I can get it for her. It pleases me when she asks for my help.
Our goal is to attend church on Sunday at our church, Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, GA. Greg came up with a solution to get Melvine and me to church. We just have to get up earlier and he will drive us to church and then drive back by our house on his way to drive to Mount Pleasant Presbyterian church where he is the pianist and song director.
We have not given up on the church. We just had to work out a way to get us there without creating conflicts and inconveniences for others who have driven us to church when we have asked.
I believe that something good is going to happen in our church on Sunday, November 10. I want to speak positively about the church. I want nothing negative to come from my lips. My prayer is for God to give us a spiritual breakthrough. I want to be there when the power of God falls on our church congregation.
Let me share with you a Scripture to help prepare you for expecting God to bless your church with a Spiritual Breakthrough. It is recorded in the Book of Job:
Job 5:9
9 He (God) performs wonders that cannot be fathomed,
miracles that cannot be counted.
NIV
