Lonnie Samuel Wall of Burlington, NC, died April 4, 2016. A native of Surry County, NC, he was born January 12, 1926, son of the late Derious Samuel Wall and Annie Kidd Wall.
Mr. Wall served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He attended Holmes Bible College, Greenville, SC. He was retired from the trucking industry with forty-three years of service. He attended Crossway Church.
Survivors include wife, Nanthalyn Shepherd Wall of the home; son, Samuel Leigh Wall I; daughter, Sherri Wall McMillen; daughter, Sonya Wall Carrell and husband, Bruce; grandson, Samuel Leigh Wall II and wife, Kristen; granddaughter, Emrick Elizabeth McMillen; step-granddaughters, Catherine Carrell Roberts and husband, Jason, and Laura Carrell.
Other survivors are brother, Bruce Wall; sisters, Aileen Reese and Shirley Waters, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family.
Mr. Wall was preceded in death by an infant daughter and an infant son, and by two brothers, Wilbur Wall and Roy Wall, and by a sister, Thelma Smith.
Visitation will be at 10:00 to 10:45 am Thursday, April 7, at Lowe Funeral Home, Burlington, NC, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holmes Bible College, 4901 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC, 29617.
