Little Johnny was always telling tall tales.
One morning he told his teacher, "This morning there were one hundred deer in my back yard." The next day he told his teacher, "Yesterday my daddy and I went fishing and we caught one hundred fish."
After this went on for several days his teacher decided to teach him a lesson. When Little Johnny arrived at school his teacher said "Little Johnny, let me tell you what happened to me this morning. I was walking to school and all of a sudden there was a grizzly bear running toward me. It was twelve feet tall and weighed two thousand pounds! Just before it was about to attack me, out of nowhere a chihuahua jumped on the bear, beat it up so badly the bear ran off scared. That chihuahua saved my life! Now tell me Little Johnny do you really believe that story?"
Without hesitation Little Johnny answered, "Sure I do . . . that was my dog!!!!!"
[Editor's Comment: This joke was sent to me some time ago by Wayne Butler of Bishop, Georgia. He is noted for his good jokes. When I was pastor of Tarkenton Memorial Church, I asked Wayne to join with me as as associate pastor. Not only is Wayne an excellent preacher and a shepherd, he is also a wonderful singer. His voice is natural, clear, and melodious. Melvine and I asked Wayne to sing a solo at Stephanie Ellen Morgan's Memorial Service, entitled, "Thank You for Giving to the Lord." We love Wayne and June Butler. They are quality Christian people.
