Although Melvine, Greg, and I are going through a trying and tough time in our lives, God's Word sustains us
and offers us a hope and a future. One day soon, this momentary suffering will pass, and brighter and more beautiful days we shall see. After the storm comes a calm and tranquility appears to remind us that things are looking up.
In the midst of it all, God gives us peace. As I compose these thoughts out of my heart and life's experiences of 86 years, I am reminded of a song O. N. Todd, Jr., my pastor in Birmingham, used to sing that is entitled, "'Till The Storm Passes By."
If you will please Click Here you can hear the Gaither Vocal Band sing "Til The Storm Passes By."
Here are the Lyrics:
In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face,
While the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place.
'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more.
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
Many times Satan whispered, "There is no need to try
For there's no end of sorrow, there's no hope by and by"
But I know Thou art with me, and tomorrow I'll rise
Where the storms never darken the skies.
Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more.
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky,
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand
Keep me safe till the storm passed by.
In times like these, I turn to the Bible that has a secure Word when I am traveling through a temporary storm, that keeps Melvine and me, as well as Greg safe and brings us a bright hope for better days.
I don't know what the future holds, but Melvine and I know Jesus Christ our Lord knows all about our future and it is good. "And the longer we serve Him the Sweeter He grows. Every need He is supplying, and plenteous grace He bestows."]
