When one of us is down, the other is up.
Up and down. Down and up. It's like a see-saw on the playground for children
Thursday was a day of a lack of energy and motivation for me. Melvine was up with more energy. Her cough is much better. As for me, I wanted to sleep. I was drowsy and listless most of the day. Although I had lots of work to do, I did it when I had to, so I was not up on top of things.
I did get up early to greet the men from Akin Ford Dealership who come to our home to pick up my 2010 Lincoln Continental Towncar for service when needed. That is one of the many courtesies they give to me. I am a blessed man to have them come to get my car for service. I am hoping to sell my Lincoln and purchase a Ford CRV, one that gets excellence gas mileage, and one that Melvine and I can get in and out of easily. Although I am asking $12,900, I am willing to negotiate for a lower price. One of the fine features of my car is that it is in excellent condition and has less than 80,000 miles. The tires are good, and we have a good battery. I purchased an extended maintenance contract with Zurich that covers the vehicle from bumper to bumper that will carry it to 108,000 miles. That contract has saved me lots of money. I will give that maintenance contract as a gift to the next owner. I will have to pay $50 to transfer it along with the maintenance record I have with Akin Ford, and Casey Jackson Ford Dealership in Royston, GA, where I purchased it.
My CPA's sent me the documents for the IRS filing for 2018 for Hugh's News, Inc. on Thursday. I am blessed to have the best CPA's in the known world to take care of that for me. I hope to go to the Post Office on Friday after I bring Melvine home from chemotherapy to mail these documents, and to send a check for the professional services rendered by my CPA's. I like to pay my bills promptly and show appreciation for the work that has been done.
I have paid the annual fee and registered Hugh's News, Inc. with the Secretary of the State of Georgia for 2018 as non-profit tax exempt corporation. I hired an attorney, a graduate of the University of Georgia and the law school to draw up all those documents to meet the requirements of the state and federal.
Melvine folded the colored clothes I had washed and dried. I need to learn how to fold them, and hopefully that activity will keep me awake.
I went to Kentucky Fried Chicken tonight for our supper. We like their Chicken Pot Pies. They are so good. Melvine is never able to eat the whole pie, and I eat what she could not eat. We both love the thick crust the pie has. It is so good.
When I get home from purchasing our supper, Melvine always meets me at the door from our garage and helps me. In fact, she gets the boxes out of the plastic bag, and brings my supper on a metal tray along with my drink to where I sit in our family room. I have a Laz A Boy recliner. George Chassevent built a box to go underneath the bottom of the chair to make it higher for me to be able get in and out of. I got Charlie Arnold to paint the wooden box a royal blue color. I am blessed to have friends like George and Charlie to do things I am unable to do.
We are grateful to God that neither one of us has had to be in the hospital. We have a warm and comfortable modest home and we praise God for shelter, food, clothing, running water, a bath tube which we never use, and a shower with built-in seat. We have a refrigerator with freezer, and a separate upright freezer we keep in our garage.
God is so good to us.
We thank the Lord for all of you, for your love and prayers, cards, gift cards, letters, and emails. It is wonderful to have an army of prayer warriors.
We bless you in Jesus' Name.
Let me leave you with the Billy Graham Blessing or Benediction:
