Thanksgiving is a time for thanking God for Who He is, and all His blessings He has given to us. He is known as Jehovah-Jireh.
Author: Hugh H. Morgan
We read about it in Genesis 22:14, "And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen" (KJV). God provided a ram whose head had been caught in a thicket to be sacrificed instead of Issac. God gave His very best in giving Jesus as the Lamb of God to save the world of their sins. Our God is rich and will provide for our every need. We will be happy when we trust Him and obey. May He bless you and your family this Thanksgiving Day of 2022.
I want to thank all of you for allowing me to come to you via the Internet and email. I thank God for you daily for your support of this ministry of communication called Hugh's News. The mission statement remains the same as the day I conceived it in my spirit and wrote it. It is this:
Hugh's News is the flagship of communications serving IPHC ministries and the body of Christ worldwide.
The Scriptural Mission of Hugh's News is recorded in the Book of Daniel 12:3:
Daniel 12:3 This Scripture was given to my mother about me when she was pregnant with me.
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
NIV
I hope you are reading along with me as we read through the Gospel of John in the New King James Version. Have you noticed that I am giving read color to the words spoken by Jesus?
People often ask me if I live alone in my home. The answer is yes, and with this clarifying word, "I am not alone for Jesus walks beside me and talks with me through His Word, the Bible, as well as in my thoughts He communicates with me."
I am blessed to have Wayne and June Butler to bring Thanksgiving Dinner to my home. They will dine with me this year. I am grateful for their love and watchful care for me. I could not have made it without them. Wayne Butler was a classmate of Talmadge Gardner at Emmanuel College. Talmadge speaks highly of Wayne as a student. He is the same good and faithful man who loves Jesus, his wife, June, and their family.
I am blessed to have a devotional tongue when I pray in the Spirit with words that He gives to me. I speak those words knowing I am praying to God. I do not understand the words, but when I ask for the interpretation, He gives me an understanding of what He is doing in meeting the need in the life of another person or for me personally, guidance or an inward assurance that God is intervening. I don't pray in tongues as often as I should.
In the brief letter of Jude, a half brother of Jesus, he writes these inviting and encouraging words about praying in the Holy Spirit:
"But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit."
Jude 20, NKJV
