It's difficult to realize that this is the 20th Thanksgiving I have shared with you my subscribers and readers.
We are honored and overwhelmed that God has allowed us to come into your lives, your homes, your churches and places of work and recreation with our newsletter called Hugh's News.
Who would have ever dreamed that this electronic newsletter would grow so rapidly over these years from the original 13 subscribers to more than 6,000 readers (not subscribers) all across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, and some 22 countries around the world.
I want to take this time to say "Thank You" for your prayer and financial support to keep this ministry viable and valuable to so many people.
Our mission statement has never changed. Here it is:
Hugh's News is the electronic flagship of communications serving IPHC ministries and the body of Christ worldwide.
The Scriptural mission for Hugh's News is recorded in the Book of Daniel:
"AND THEY THAT BE WISE SHALL SHINE AS THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE FIRMAMENT;
AND THEY THAT TURN MANY TO RIGHTEOUSNESS AS THE STARS FOR EVER AND EVER" (DANIEL 12:3, KJV).
We pray daily that Hugh's News will be an instrument in the Hands of God to lead people to discover the Kingdom of God through conviction, repentance toward God, and faith in Jesus Christ, God's Son, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).
Today is Thanksgiving Day in the United States of America. We acknowledge Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. It is because of Jesus Christ, our blessed Lord, that we live in this blessed country. Every gift and blessing that we enjoy today has come to us from the Hand of God. I rejoice this day that our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and that one day we will go to heaven to be forever with God our Savior. It will be there we will see again our loved ones, two daughters, Julia Frances and Stephanie Ellen and a son, Christopher Todd, who was a miscarriage. We were able to identify his tiny body that he was or is a boy.
I want to bless each one of you this day with joy and peace in the Holy Spirit, with health and healing, and with every good and perfect gift form God our Heavenly Father Who loves us unconditionally and is desirous to bless us as His people.
Enjoy every moment this day with those you love. Spend time listening to what they are saying, and give them feedback of your love and interest in them.
I thank God for my denomination, the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. Although I was born and reared in this church, I made it my choice when I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in May 1963. During my senior year I was recruited by Methodist Bishops from Coast to Coast and from North to South. I weighed it in the balances of the Word of God and the doctrine of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, and decided this is the church for me and Melvine and our family.
Now, I don't believe the Pentecostal Holiness Church is the only church. There are other churches that God is blessing and I bless them, too. This is my home denomination and I never intend to change. I am grateful to the leadership of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and the people for giving me so many opportunities to serve God and His Kingdom. I am a blessed man.
So, there you have my belief and you are my spiritual family. I love you dearly.
