After nine weeks and three days in the hospital in Gainesville, GA, Greg was transported to our home in Winder, GA, on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. He arrived at 12:30 p.m.
Both Greg and I were overjoyed to have him home once again.
The nurse from the home health care company was present to interview him and asset his particular needs. At 1 pm a health care lady came to help us. She prepared our lunch, washed dishes, cups, and utensils. Wayne Butler delivered our groceries and she put them all away in the refrigerator, freezer, pantry, etc. She washed a load of clothes, dried and folded them.
Greg said he was awakened at 5:30 a.m. and wanted to take a nap. When he awakened he wanted a snack. He ate a Little Debbie chocolate Swiss Roll and a cup of milk.
For supper he requested a bowl of Clam Chowder with saltine crackers and a Coke Zero.
He will take his own medicine tonight. It is in bubble wrap and is labeled.
Another care giver is coming at 10 to stay the night to see how Greg does.
I am grateful for all the help God is giving me. June Butler helped me to get this home care assistance. It is a good company with quality caregivers.
I am pleased.
Thank you for your prayers for us.
Lonnie Rex wrote and said I had named 74 people, notwithstanding the list of my nephews and nieces. And yet, I missed a number of other people who had called or written us. Mary Ann Weeks, my first cousin said the list was phenomenal. Not many people can name that many friends. She said, "These friends are the fruit of your giving to them over the years."
Mary Ann greatly encouraged me by that statement. If I omitted your name, it was by default. I was naming people as I wrote. I had not made a list of the people who have helped us.
Have a blessed day.
