On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the request of the Disaster Relief USA Committee, Presiding Bishop Doug Beacham, General Superintendent of the IPHC, issued an official declaration for Hurricane Relief for the southeast portions of the Atlantic Coast. In South Carolina alone, at least 15 people have died from the floods, since the rain began to fall last week.
"It is imperative that the IPHC family join with other Christians and humanitarian agencies in providing help for those whose lives have been so severely disrupted," said Beacham. "We pray that out of the destruction and chaos, that millions will experience firsthand the love of Jesus Christ through the helping hands of His church."
According to Bill Terry, National Coordinator for DRUSA, “The Mobile Feeding Kitchen has officially been deployed and will be stationed in Kingstree, South Carolina. With the declaration, DRUSA will be in need of financial assistance. We have set up an online link for contributions. To make a donation, please go to the IPHC website: www.iphc.org. If you have any questions or desire to provide volunteers, please direct all inquiries to the DRUSA office at 405.792.7131 or via email to Sherrie Taylor."
DRUSA is committed to assisting people's needs as resources become available. We will continue to keep you apprised of needs as we are updated.
