Concert pianist Daniel Maltz performed Thursday evening, September 1, 2016, at Emmanuel College in front of a standing-room only crowd. A former student of Carol White, wife of EC President, Dr. Ron White. Maltz is a native of Lexington, SC, but is based out of Vienna, Austria.
"It was a joy to hear Daniel in concert at Emmanuel,” Mrs. White said. “He played beautifully with sensitivity and expression. I am so proud of what he has accomplished! With his talent, I believe he will go far in his career."

The concert consisted of several pieces from the Classical and Romantic eras including, Beethoven’s Op. 126 Bagatelles and famous “Pathetique” Sonata, Mozart’s Fantasia, K. 397, the complete Kinderszenen by Schumann, and Chopin’s Ballade in A-flat major and Op. 36 impromptu.
Maltz enjoyed playing in front of the crowd at Emmanuel, finding them very receptive.
“It was great, it was special,” Maltz said. “I thought the crowd was very receptive and I had a good feeling that they were with me on the journey. I was very happy, a very welcoming crowd.”

Maltz will continue to appear in concerts throughout the United States and Europe as he prepares for his debut at Carnegie Hall in October 2016.
