The extraordinary story of Lynchburg's Desmond T. Doss, "a movie plot right from the start."

Corporal Desmond T. Doss, a Seventh-day Adventist and the first conscientious objector to earn the Medal of Honor, displays his medal at his home in Rising Fawn, GA., April 5, 1966. Doss earned the medal as a medic on Okinawa in 1945. He says he would serve again if called upon.
