I received a personal invitation from Command Chaplain , Colonel James D. Tims, Air Mobility Command inviting Melvine and me to Chaplain Randy Sellers' promotion.
The promotion ceremony will be conducted on Friday, February twenty-six at eleven o'clock in the morning at the Base Chapel at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas.
I must tell you that Sheila, Randy's effervescent and delightful wife, is the real motivation for his success. She has fit perfectly into the Air Force community, and has found her niche as a chaplain's wife as well as the wife of a very influential officer like Randy. It is so very important for a man to marry the right woman. Sheila is the best of the best. I applaud her. They work together as a team and bring a high quality of leadership wherever they serve.
Chaplain Randy Sellers has demonstrated executive abilities by his staff planning in the creation of this promotion ceremony. He is to be commended for his excellent staff work. He has proved he is ready for the next higher level of leadership in the Air Force as a chaplain and an officer.
It was my privilege and honor to be present five years ago when Randy Sellers was promoted to the rank of Major on March 1, 2011, at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, OK. It was one of the best attended promotion ceremonies I have ever attended in that the leadership of the International Pentecostal Holiness was well represented. Bishop and Mrs. Chris Thompson, Chairman of Chaplains Ministries IPHC, and Bishop and Mrs. Frank G. Tunstall, Superintendent of the Heartland Conference. Marilyn Burrows, wife of Damon Burrows, was present along with her son, David Burrows, who resided in Enid, OK.
I wish Melvine and I could be present. Our thoughts and prayers will be with them.
