Bishop Timothy Lamb, the superintendent of the LifePoint Ministries Conference (formerly Georgia Conference) presided over the election for a new pastor at Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, GA, on Sunday evening, October 4, 2015.
Here is what Bishop Timothy Lamb sent on Saturday, October 10, in an e-mail:
I would like to congratulate Bradley Cooper from Charleston, South Carolina as the newly elected pastor of Christian Life Worship Center, Athens, Georgia. Pastor Brad will begin his first Sunday at CLWC November 8, 2015.
I know you will enjoy getting to know Brad and his wife, Kiki, as well as their beautiful and bright children, a girl and three All-America boys.
[Editor’s comment: I have only heard Brad Cooper preach one time when he came to preach for us on Sunday, September 13. I took notes on his message and made a Word document of it. The Scripture passage he used was recorded in Luke 10:12. He is a gifted communicator and revealed the vision God had given him for Christian Life Worship Center, the city of Athens, the surrounding communities in northeast Georgia and the colleges and universities.
It is my observation that God will use Brad Cooper to establish an International Church here in Athens that will be great with global influence. Brad’s wife is of Japanese descent and was born in the United States. Both Brad and Kiki are graduates of Boston College, one of the elite colleges in the northeast. It is about as hard to be accepted as a student in Boston College as it is in Harvard University. Brad has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He has some seminary education at Gordon Cromwell Theological Seminary as well.
It is my opinion that Brad Cooper not only has the vision for our church and community, but the spiritual gifts to motivate and lead our congregation to utilize their spiritual gifts to do the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. He has the virtue of personal holiness through the blood of Jesus Christ to lead us with the highest qualities of honesty, integrity, transparency and a work ethic unequaled, and the vigor to lead us to victory in accomplishing the vision. The best is ours for the present and the future God will give to our church.
Brad Cooper has my full support. I look forward to getting to known him as a person, as well as his wife, Kiki, and children.
I ask you to pray that they will be able to sell their home in Charleston, SC. I understand that their home was not affected by the recent flooding. Where they own their home is on higher ground. They only need one buyer. This is the right time for someone who needs a home like theirs to purchase it. Let us pray for God’s favor and success for Brad and Kiki Cooper.]
