Bishop Doyle Marley, Superintendent of Cornerstone Conference (formerly the Western North Carolina Conference) and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Holmes Bible College announced at the annual Feast of Ingathering at Holmes Bible College last Thursday evening, October 6, 2016, that the Board of Trustees of Holmes Bible College has elected Bishop Chris Thompson to be the President Elect of Holmes Bible College.
I have talked with both Bishop James D. Leggett and Bishop Chris Thompson to confirm the word of mouth announcement I had heard. My philosophy is trust but verify. It is true.
Bishop Chris Thompson told me that he will finish his term of office and that will end at the close of the 28th General General Conference in Orlando in July 2017. He will assume his duties and responsibilities as the President for Holmes Bible College following our General Conference.
It is the belief of this writer that Bishop Chris Thompson is God's man to succeed Bishop James D. Leggett. He is a Holmes Bible College graduate. In every ministerial role he has held including pastorates, Superintendent of the North Carolina Conference, Executive Director of Evangelism USA, as well as Chairman of ACTS2Day Ministries and Chaplains Ministries, IPHC, he has done so with excellence.
There is no doubt about it that in the providence of God that Bishop Chris Thompson is the man prepared to carry Holmes Bible College to the next higher level and with an exponential growth in the student body. He is well-known by the pastors and churches in the IPHC.
