Audrey Ann Weeks, 78, of Chesterfield, VA, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vernell Nichols; and daughter, Jill Vernell Weeks. She is survived by her husband, Walter Weeks; son and daughter-in-law, W. Audrey was a retired hairdresser, having had her own shop for most of her career. She was a member of the Richmond First Pentecostal Holiness Church and has served the Lord since early childhood.
Audrey started witnessing through music that the Lord gave her in 1973. Her songs continue to bless her family and friends still today. She was a faithful servant and discipled many into the body of Christ. Her husband, "PeeWee," affectionately referred to her as "the prettiest girl in school."
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m Monday, June 13, 2016, at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd.
A funeral ceremony will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at The Celebration Center, 879 Research Rd., North Chesterfield, VA. 23236. Interment will follow in Dale Memorial Park.
[Editor's Comment: Audrey Weeks was a beautiful Christian lady. She was authentic and genuine. She and PeeWee, her husband, were a loving couple and they had a wonderful marriage. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a gifted song writer and her songs, all about her faith in Jesus Christ, were always well-received by our congregation. She and her brother John Tunstall often sang duets. I was my privilege to he her pastor.
Audrey had an interest and love for wild birds and had multiple bird feeders, and birth baths in her back yard. She was a talented hairdresser.
It is interesting to know that Audrey Weeks is Chaplain Jerry Jones' aunt by marriage. Audrey is his mother's brother’s wife--Uncle John or better known as "PeeWee." Chaplain (Colonel) Jerry L. Jones, USA Retired, is the Director/Endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC. He and Cynthia plan to be in attendance. ]
