I am indebted to the Rev. Dr. Larry Jones, "The Little Bishop of the South Carolina Conference," for coming to my rescue to find out more information about the Rev. Dr. James R. Pennington, and his wife, Theda, who reside in Oklahoma City, OK.
The initial report I received last Friday or Saturday was that James has stage 5 Leukemia and is near death. In fact, hospice has been called to offer their care for him in his last stages of dying. Larry Jones gave me the telephone number so I could check it out. I had lost my telephone number for James. I talked with a family member and she reported that James is unconscious. Let us pray that the goodness and mercy of God will surround James as he nears the crossing over moment into the Promised Land. It is my prayer that God will call and direct two guardian angels from heaven to escort the spirit and soul of James at the hour of his death as he breathes his last breath into the very presence of God.
The word I received about Theda, his precious wife, is that she is holding her own. She is on dialysis, and needs your prayers.
Please join me in praying for this wonderful couple who have served the IPHC with honor and distinction, and given their lives in sacrificial service to the IPHC.
