KANSAS City, Mo. — Southwestern Christian University senior Adam Butler was named to the 2015 NAIA all-American men’s soccer team Tuesday.
Butler, a defender from London, England, earned an honorable-mention selection and becomes SCU’s first NAIA all-American in any sport since joining the association in 2010.
Adam Butler started 23 games for the Eagles this season and anchored a defense that notched five shutouts. He also scored three goals and tallied one assist in 2015. Butler was named a first-team all-Sooner Athletic Conference defender for the second time in his SCU career this season.
Butler helped lead the Eagles to a third-place finish in the SAC regular season. SCU challenged for its first conference tournament title but fell short against USAO in the SAC championship game.
