A Thanksgiving Message from the Editor

I have always been intrigued by what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians about the good work God had begun in them at their conversion and would continue it until the day of Jesus Christ. I take that to mean that this good work will continue working in them until our Lord comes to catch His bride away in the rapture of the church.
Our God is the God Who never quits. Jesus said, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working" (John 5:17, NKJV).
When I was a student at Holmes Bible College when Dr. Paul F. Beacham was president and taught the New Testament in the first Bible class of the day. That was the highlight of every day at Holmes. He said that we could add our children in this Scripture without violence to it. He explained that it was Paul and Silas who said to the Philippian Jailer that he was to "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31, NKJV).
I remember Bishop Leroy Baker preaching a sermon entitled, “Don’t Give Up on Your Family,” at the Cornerstone Conference Camp Meeting in Browns Summit, NC. Melvine was with me and we were both blessed by his message. It was a powerful message and anointed by the Holy Spirit. It still rings true in my mind and heart today.
At this Thanksgiving Season, it is a good thing to remember the good work God has begun in us, and in our children, He will bring to completion. We can trust the authority of God’s Word. It will never fail. So, as we thank God for all of His blessings upon our families, let us believe God to save every one of them.
We all can quote what Jesus said in John 3:16-17, “16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17, NKJV).
Claim your children and grandchildren for the Lord. We want them all to go to heaven and until then live a life that glorifies God and brings joy and fulfillment to them.
The Apostle Paul taught this truth about the Kingdom of God in the Book of Romans: “17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men” (Rom 14:17-18, NKJV).
I pray that your Thanksgiving will bring you peace and joy in the Holy Spirit as you place your trust in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
