Hugh, my heart is touched for you tonight and especially during this special Memorial Day week end. I trust that God will give you His special peace and please know that my love and prayers are going up to God for you continually. I am trusting, in faith, for your divine healing. May you receive comfort by the following Scriptures:
Jesus stated, “I will never leave thee nor forsake (abandon) thee” (Hebrews 13:5). When the Holy Spirit was sent from Heaven, on the Day of Pentecost, Jesus stated that He would be with us “forever.” (John 14:16) I love you very much and my prayers will continue for you.
Thanks for being close friends for these many years and may God bless,
Dan Beller.
[Editor's comment: Dan Beller has been a close friend for many years. He served on the Southwestern College Board of Trustees when I was president. After every board meeting he would send a card with encouraging words he had written thanking me for my ministry and service as president of Southwestern College.
I am grateful to God for so many friends Melvine and I have made over the years. I am thankful, too, that in the providence of God He allowed me to serve as the third president of Southwestern College. I followed Dr. R. O. Corvin and Dr. W. R. Corvin. My life has been blessed and enriched by knowing and being with both of these men of faith, the Bible, and Christian higher education. I honor their memory.]
