Bishop Chris Thompson and Chaplain (Colonel) Jerry L. Jones, US Army Retired and Director/Endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC will be involved in meetings today, January 9, 2017, from 8 a. m. until 4 p. m. at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Hotel and Conference Center. It is near Washington, DC and Reagan International Airport.
Very important information will be shared that effects our chaplains, and Bishop Thompson and Chaplain (Colonel) Jerry Jones will have opportunity to express their concerns and offer solutions to presenting issues of the day. This will be the last meeting that Bishop Chris Thompson will have with this august body of endorsers. I know personally that he has benefitted greatly from these meetings and now more fully understands the ministry of our military chaplains. Whatever Chris Thompson does he goes all out to learn about it, and thereby, contributes to the success of the ministry.

Our presence is vital to the success of the NAE Commission on Chaplains. We endorse our own chaplains to the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as Veteran Affairs Chaplaincy. We maintain our own automony while working closely with the leadership of this evangelical chaplains commission that has a good reputation with the Chiefs of Chaplains of the three major branches of service and the VA Hospital Chief of Chaplains and his staff.
However, it is important that we stand shoulder to shoulder with other evangelical churches in one voice to support our chaplains who serve in strategic assignments both in the United States and in foreign countries.
Chaplain Jones' extensive ministry and service as an active duty Army chaplain at all levels of leadership serves him well as our director/endorser. His wife, Cynthia, is a great assest to him, and they are a team in ministering to our chaplains, spouses and families. He is highly respected and has found his niche as a leader in this organization.
Pray that God's grace and wisdom will rest upon Bishop Chris Thompson and Chaplain Jerry Jones as they interact with other endorsers today and the leadership of the NAE Chaplains Commission.
