[Editor's tribute to Watson Fowler: I met Watson Fowler in May 1986 when I became the senior pastor of Tarkenton Memorial Church (now Christian Life Worship Center) in Athens, GA. Watson was the head usher and served the church in that position for many years. He was the most faithful and loyal man I have ever met. Come rain or shine, snow or storms, you could always count on Watson Fowler being present. He loved the Sunday school and was a Sunday school teacher. He was an active member of Men's Ministries. He was a master designer of men's clothing, and worked for After Six for many years. He was the sharpest dresser in the church. He always wore a suit with shirt and tie.
Watson was a prince of a man.
He and I talked together often. Looking back now, I wish I had called him more often. He would call me and we talked about family and friends. He loved to worship and praise the Lord. To his dear wife, Betty Jo, and their family I send my condolences, love, and prayers. I will miss a good friend.
