Matt 28:2-10
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you.
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring His disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshiped him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me.

[Editor's Comment: The fact that Jesus rose from the death has been verified by many witnesses. The events of that first Easter morning when Jesus arose from the dead was rapid and exciting. God dispatched a strong angel to roll away the stone guarding the entrance to the tomb. He did so not to let Jesus out, but to allow His disciples to come in to see where His body came through the linen cloths and spices and left the imprint of his body. What a miracle! They experienced two powerful emotions at the same time: fear and great joy.
The telling of this great story of the resurrection of Jesus has never ended. It never will. We who have believed the message know that Jesus lives, for He lives within our hearts. He walks with us and talks with us and tells us that we are His very own. We have that inner witness of his presence and a changed life has followed since Jesus came into our hearts and lives.
I trust that this Easter will be the most glorious Easter Sunday that you have ever experienced.
Melvine and I plan to be in Sunday school at 10 a. m. at Christian Life Worship Center in Athens, GA. Our class is led by Lavon and Arlette Cape Revells. The Celebration Class is a cross generational gathering of various ages of adults that meets on Sunday mornings to celebrate Jesus and study God's Holy Word, the Bible.
Lavon and Arlette Revells are the teachers or facilitators. There is never a dull moment and they know how to get class members involved in the discussion of the subject material.
We meet in Stephanie's Place on the lower level of our education wing of our church a large classroom named in loving memory of the life and legacy of Stephanie Ellen Morgan, a dedicated educator during her adult life. You may enter the door to this well appointed room from the parking lot to the right of a beautiful rose garden that is in bloom.
We want to make room for you in our class.
Of course, we have more Sunday school classes to provide Christian education for the whole family. We have a well-staffed nursery for your infants.
Our morning worship begins at 11 o'clock with vibrant singing with praise and worship. Pastor Matt Adams will bring an Easter message today you will want to hear and experience. Why not come and join us in worship?
The church is located at 125 Kathwood Drive, one mile north of the Athens Perimeter just off US Highway 129.
