Luke 12:8-9
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him shall the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God:
9 But he that denieth Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
KJV
[Editor's Comment: Have you ever believed in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and confessed Him with your mouth? It is not enough to believe, we must also be willing to confess before others saints and sinners what we believe in our hearts about Jesus Christ to be saved.
The Apostle Paul wrote, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame" (Romans 10:9-11, NIV).
When we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and Lord there is an inner desire to tell what God has done for us. Your salvation is not complete until you confess that Jesus Christ has saved you and that He is your Savior and Lord.
Of course, water baptism follows our conversion. It is an act of obedience as we follow the Lord in our new found relationship with Him. We will want to attend worship at our church, and get involved in a study of the Bible with other believers.
If we don't tell the story of Jesus, who will? May I encourage you to start today to tell others of your faith in Jesus Christ. Yes, it will take moral courage. I can tell you God will give you moral courage and you will be pleased at what God can do through your testimony. You are vital to the mission of the church--to be a witness as the Holy Spirit empowers you to do so.]
