Do you remember when we used to sing Gospel songs about getting saved?
We sang about it, talked about it, prayed about it, and saw people being saved in our regular Sunday services in our churches. Here's one that I loved to sing as a boy and a youth.
What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought
1 What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought
Since Jesus came into my heart!
I have light in my soul for which long I had sought,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
Since Jesus came into my heart!
Since Jesus came into my heart!
Floods of joy o’er my soul like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
2 I have ceased from my wand’ring and going astray,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And my sins which were many are all washed away,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
3 I’m possessed of a hope that is steadfast and sure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And no dark clouds of doubt now my pathway obscure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
4 There’s a light in the valley of death now for me,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And the gates of the City beyond I can see,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
5 I shall go there to dwell in that City I know,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And I’m happy, so happy as onward I go,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
We are learning a new to trust Jesus to heal Melvine. We're committed to serve Jesus to the end of our lives. We believe He heals today and performs miracles.
Melvine got up before I did on Tuesday. She woke up with a desire to go to church to the ladies Bible study and prayer group she was the leader of for several years before she got sick. She took a bath, got dressed, and Greg gave her breakfast in our family room.
I gave her the medications her doctors have prescribed and took her vital signs before she ate. Once again,
her vital signs were good.
She felt good enough to go to the Ladies Bible study and prayer group. Greg drove her in Melvine's car. Melvine has not driven her car in a year, but we like to use it when we go anywhere for the room it has and the comfort, plus it gets excellent gas mileage, over 30 miles per gallon.
After prayer meeting they stopped by Chic fil A and got chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. That's what we ate for lunch. It was too much for me. I ate what I could.
Greg is a member of the Gwinett County Symphonic Orchestra and Choral Group. He sings second tenor in the latter group. He loves it. Everyone who sings with him know how to sight read and that is an advantage. They will be singing in a couple of performances soon.
Greg has been hired by a prominent company known all over the USA. Presently, he is in training. Thus far, he likes it. Right now, he is preparing to take a test to get his license. He has a lot of legal terms to memorize.
He is working diligently to master the material.
Melvine is doing well. She still gets confused and finds it difficult to share her thoughts with us. But that, too, will clear up.
Our Scripture for today reminds us that God is looking constantly to help those who need His help and healing:
"For the eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect toward Him, so that He can show His great power in helping them" (2 Chronicles 16:9).
