Callie Sorrow, a graduate of Emmanuel College, and enrolled online in a M. Div. degree program at Asbury Theological Seminary, is an upcoming preacher and leader in the IPHC. She is the daughter of Rick and Christy Beatty Sorrow, retired Air Force chaplain, and the granddaughter of the Rev. Dr. G. Earl and Nancy Beatty, and James and Rachel Sorrow (Polly Allen Sorrow, her paternal grandmother is deceased).
Callie just celebrated her 23rd birthday. I have known her all of her life. God has endowed her with an exceptional intelligence and a calling from God to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Just a few weeks ago, Callie was asked to speak in the summer conference of LifePoint Ministries (Georgia) Conference. Because of prior commitments Melvine and I were not able to be present to hear her preach. However, she was gracious to send me an attachment of her sermon entitled, "We Don't Need Another Church."

Here is my response to this outstanding Millennium--Callie Sorrow:
Dear Callie,
There is no doubt that you are called to preach. God has called you
and ordained you to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Your
promise of this calling is recorded in John 15:16. I said recorded,
and not found. Why? The Scripture has never been lost.
You have exceptional insights into what the church can and ought to
be. You have captured, or God has captured your heart of compassion
for others, and you have opened a door of understanding that we all
need to hear.
Your use of Scripture is excellent.
You are a fulfillment of the prophecy we hold dear as Pentecostals.
Acts 2:17-18
17 "'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
NIV
Your sermon or message needs, in my humble opinion, a wider audience.
I am thinking out loud and wondering if you would give me permission
to publish your message in Hugh's News? This will give you a
significant platform you may not have available to you at this moment
in time. However, your borders and territories will expand as God
opens many doors for you. It maybe that one day you will be an editor
and writer for Charisma magazine.
God has gifted you with intelligence, a heart for God and a love for
Jesus, as well as for people and their needs, and a driving force
inside of you that will propel you to higher heights and unparallelled
opportunities.
Because of you, Callie, there is hope for your generation--the
Millennials. God will use you to bring many of them to salvation and a
life of discipleship.
Let me give you Billy Graham's benediction I quoted recently in Hugh's News:
"May your troubles be less, your blessings more, and may nothing but
happiness, come through your door. Life without God is like an
unsharpened pencil--it has no point." Amen and peace, my
friends--Billy Graham.
Your friend and fellow minister in all seasons,
Papa Hugh
