Walter M. "Pee Wee" Weeks, age 82, of Chesterfield, went home to be with the Lord December 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Elma Weeks; his wife of 62 years, Audrey Weeks; daughter, Jill Weeks; and brother, Mac Weeks. He is survived by his son, Keith Weeks (Sandi); three grandchildren, Lauryn, Alison, Lacey; four great-grandchildren, Sam, Brooklyn, Alex and Kira; sister, Mavis Jones (Willie); numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Bella.
Walter worked for Reynolds Metals for many years. He loved sports and played as a pitcher for Richmond First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a hard worker all his life and a devoted husband, father and patriarch of the family. Walter loved all of his family, especially his grandchildren. His sense of humor and "bossiness" will be greatly missed.
Family will receive visitors 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd.
A funeral ceremony will be held 12 p.m. Thursday, at The Celebration Center, 879 Research Rd., Chesterfield.
Interment will be in Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pee Wee's name to the Alzheimer's Association or The Celebration Center.
[Editor's Comment: It was my honor and privilege to be PeeWee Weeks pastor when I was the senior pastor of the Richmond First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a fun person and a delight to be around. He was indeed a hard worker and was a master electrician. We had an electrical issue when we were completing the classroom and administrative offices and he knew exactly what was needed, and he promptly fixed the problem. I have been in his home several times. He and Audrey were wonderful hosts and had the gift of hospitality. I knew his mother, Elma Weeks. A lot of people thought that Elma and Melvine favored. I remember his children and grandchildren. They were a terrific group of people and it was a joy minisering to them.
I pray the Holy Spirit will bring them the comfort they need in their sorrow and grief.]
