Emmanuel Women's Head Basketball Coach Mike Bona announced today that Timia Reynolds will become their new Assistant Coach of the Emmanuel Lady Lions Basketball Team. Timia who graduated from Model High School in Rome, Georgia in 2013 as the school's valedictorian also graduated this spring with honors from Emmanuel College with her degree in Math Education. She is now making plans to change her residence to live in the Emmanuel College Franklin Springs community so she can begin her duties starting on July 1.
Timia who had four successful years of playing basketball for the Lady Lions was an NCCAA First Team All American both her Junior and Senior years while also being the teams captain. In her senior year she was distinguished by being selected as the NCCAA Kathy Freese award winner for being the National Christian College Women's Basketball Player Of The Year. She was also selected as the Bill White Student Award Winner given to the Most Outstanding Women's Athlete on the Emmanuel College campus for 2017. To close out her honors at the graduation ceremonies she was selected by the Emmanuel College Faculty to receive the coveted faculty award.

When asked about Timia joining the staff as an assistant coach, Coach Bona replied,"We feel blessed to have Timia taking over the reins as our new assistant coach. She has been become a leader on our team since she arrived here four years ago. She is ready to lead as an assistant coach and has a burning desire to be a coach. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious and it excites me to know she will continue to give that to our team. I am looking forward to working closely with her as we continue to move our program forward."
Timia when asked about her new position and making the transition from being a player to a coach responded by saying, "I am so excited for this opportunity and starting this new chapter of my life! I am honored that Coach Bona asked me to come work with him after playing for him for 4 years. The returners are already so receptive of my new position and I am looking forward to stepping into my new role. I hope to be a role model and to help all of the girls' enjoy their experience at Emmanuel just as much as I did!"
