This week Jews around the world gather to welcome in the New Year, many Israeli families have an empty chair at their Rosh Hashanah table.
For Israelis, the past year was filled with tragedy as Palestinian terrorists launched a wave of deadly violence across the country. This terrorism was fueled by the hateful rhetoric of the Palestinian Authority. Acting on their premeditated lies that Israel was threatening the Muslim holy sites on the Temple Mount, Palestinian men, women, and even children began randomly attacking Israelis in the streets and in their homes.
Over the course of the past year, these attacks have injured 554 Israelis and killed 40 more innocent people—including 6 American citizens.
Every one of the 40 tragic deaths broke the heart of Israel, but it was the savage stabbing of a 13 year-old-girl that shook the country to its core. On June 30, 2016, Hallel Yaffa Ariel was brutally knifed to death in her bed as she lay sleeping. Those who knew sweet Hallel will forever remember her as the beautiful young girl who performed at her dance recital the night before she was killed.
To the extent the Western media covers these attacks, they often blame Israel for killing the terrorists rather than focusing on the innocent victims of the terror.
What can we do?
The people of Israel feel abandoned and without friends or allies as they tirelessly fight for their lives. We must show them they are not alone!
The Lord mandates us to, “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” (Isaiah 40:1) And that is exactly what we do daily as we stand as an unwavering ally with the Jewish people. But we can’t accomplish this task alone—we need your help!
We ask that you assist us pushing back against biased media, hostile politicians and misinformed church leaders with our uncompromising message of solidarity toward Israel.
We ask that you demonstrate your love and support for the Jewish people with the most generous gift you can give. Help us encourage and bless our friends in Israel while they sadly remember those that won’t be celebrating this Rosh Hashanah with them.
CUFI is over 3.2 million strong; if we all do our part, we can make a remarkable difference. We must use our united voice to pray for Israel and our combined resources to bring comfort to the Jewish people by revealing the truth about their covenant land. Together, we have a powerful voice—together we can help make miracles happen!
We ask the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that this Rosh Hashanah be filled with health, happiness, and hope for our Jewish friends.
Blessings to you and those you love,
