There are no two days alike in our home. I am confident that is true for you.
As Melvine and I journey through this season of our lives I have become more aware of the tenderness and gentleness of Melvine's heart and spirit. She genuinely loves people and cares for their welfare. She puts others above herself.
Today, Greg drove me to St. Mary's where they did lab work in preparation for my annual physical on Wednesday, 30 October. I have asked Lavon and Arlette Revells to help me today. Arlette will stay with Melvine and Lavon will drive my car to the doctor's office in Watkinsville, which is south of Athens. Greg will be attending classes for his new job with Aflac and unable to take me. We are blessed to have good friends like the Revells. They have helped us so many times over the years.
Melvine's tech came on Tuesday to help her with her shower and shampoo, and later, nurse Carol came to check her vital signs, etc. She makes sure we have the prescriptions Hospice Home Care can fill. Most of Melvine's medicines come to us via Express Scripts that are delivered to our home.
I have had my 2010 Lincoln Continental Towncar detailed and waxed. It is bright and shiny. I plan to sell it to a fortunate buyer who will enjoy it. Melvine and I find it difficult to get in and out of at our age. We believe a Ford Edge CRV is more our style.
Melvine has gone to bed and I shall join her shortly.
We greatly appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and many cards you have sent.
We want you to know that our trust is in God. He alone holds our destinies and we will live to continue to fulfill His calling upon our lives. I long to hear Melvine sing again in church.
Have a blessed day.
