Every day is a new adventure with God. Jesus said that without Him we can do nothing. Therefore, we must abide in the vine.
John 15:7-8
If you remain in Me and My Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8 This is to My Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.
Melvine, Greg, and I want to glorify God, and do His Will each day.
We are grateful for Hugh's News that God has given to me to edit and publish with the help of Mel Tinney, my webmaster, and all of you who give to support this ministry. Your giving to Hugh's News, Inc. is essential for the continuous production of Hugh's News.
Greg drove us to Christian Life Worship Center on Sunday. We were blessed to have Krissy McKenzie to help us with our rollator walkers. We got there in time to hear our pastor teach a class for newcomers and those who desire to become members of the church. We had two more people to join out church on Sunday.
Our pastor honored the Veterans who have served in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. There were 10 men, including me, who were honored for our service to our great country. It is wonderful to see new people visiting our church, and we hope that many of them will like our church enough to come back and be a part of our fellowship.
Melvine, Greg, and I dined at Cheddar's in Athens. The wait time was about 15 minutes. As we were sitting near the reception desk, Melvine got up and walked over to talk with the lady there. She asked her about the status of our reservation for a table, and was told we were next. That is an act on the part of Melvine to reveal she is returning to her normal personality. She can take charge, and does so with courtesy and respect.
When we got home, all of us changed clothes and went to bed for our Sunday afternoon nap. I was so tired and slept a long time.
On Monday, Veteran's Day, I had an appointment with my pain management doctor. I did not see him but a medical person and a PA. I told her I really need a total left knee replacement, but I don't know how I can do that with my care of Melvine. I asked if Dr. Benjamin McCurdy could give me an injection in my knee. She said, "Yes, but we will need to get a x-ray of your knee to allow Dr. McCurdy to see what is there. So, Greg took me to the Athens Diagnostic Center and I had my left knee x-rayed today, Tuesday, November 12. Bonnie Bender, our dear friend who is a retired nurse, suggested that I ask about getting an injection.
I am believing God to heal that knee and the injection may be the first step, prior to surgery at a later date.
We are blessed to have a good church family. They come to our rescue often. On Monday, Claudia Strickland came to stay with Melvine while Bonnie Bender drove me in my car to the doctor's office. When I got out of the doctor's office, Bonnie drove us to McDonald's to get our lunch for Melvine, Claudia, Bonnie and me. Greg had to work with the company he has joined as an underwriter.
Greg went Tuesday evening to Gwinett County to rehearse with the Gwinnett Symphony Chorus. He really loves it and it is a highlight of his week.
We are blessed to have St. Mary's Home Hospice Care professionals to come to our home to help us take care of Melvine. They are all very good: a nurse, a tech, a social worker, and a chaplain. We have never seen the doctor and my hunch is we won't see him. Everything is communicated through the nurse.
Thank you all for the cards you are sending Melvine. What a blessing they are to her and to me.
Thank you, too, for your many prayers.

Arlette Revells designed had printed 2,000 of these cards for me to give to people I meet.
