June Butler is working with various officers at Northeast Georgia Medical Center to find the best place to send Greg when he is discharged from the hospital.
I talked with Greg by phone on Monday. He told me that he just learned he had surgery to remove an ulcer. He saw the staples in his stomach and asked the nurse what that was. He was so sick that he could not remember that happening to him.
Pray that he will be sent to the place God has prepared for him. We pray for God's Will to be done in his life.
I am grateful for the friends we have like June and Wayne Butler, Jodi Butler Eason, Bonnie Bender, Pastor Terry and Pam Kesling. Bonnie and Pam came on Monday to start packing up Melvine's clothes in boxes and bags to give away. Pastor Terry Kesling is helping me with my library, computer, and files I have from my years as the director/endorser of IPHC Chaplains Ministries.
Lavon and Arlette Revells brought our supper to us Monday afternoon. Arlette had called and wanted to know what food we would like for supper that we had not had. Wesley and I said, "Chili." We love Chili with sour cream and shredded cheese. Arlette cooks the best southern cornbread in the known world. So, they came around 4:30 p.m. for Arlette to cook the cornbread in our oven. The aroma of cornbread cooking filled our home with a preview of what we wanted to eat with the chili. She and Lavon brought unsweetened ice tea which we all enjoyed. We had prayed that during the breaking of bread together we would be keenly aware of the presence of Jesus, like He was to the two disciples on the Emmaus Road. We, too, sensed our Lord's presence in our breaking of bread and talking about our faith in Jesus Christ in this season in our lives.
Lavon and Wesley were roommates at Emmanuel College for one semester.
All of this in overwhelming to me, but I know God is faithful and is working all things out for His glory and my good, and that for Greg my son.
God is sending fellow Christians to help me, including my neighbors. How blessed I am.
