Good things are happening in our lives, Greg's and mine.
On Sunday, we had a wonderful caregiver who came to our home from 10-2 pm.
She swept and mopped the floor in the kitchen and breakfast area where we eat our meals. She prepared our breakfast. She made Greg's bed, clean his bathroom, and helped Greg with his catheter foley. She cleaned the foley with soap and water, etc.
Greg felt good enough that he walked outside for 10-12 minutes, the first time he has walked outside our home since he came home from the hospital, although he has been walking inside our house and exercising.
For the first time Greg played the piano for about 30 minutes. Ramona Ready responded to an article and suggested that Greg return to his music. Lonnie Rex had earlier told Greg to play the piano at least 30 minutes daily. Greg has not lost the touch, and he filled our home with beautiful music. Music is a powerful tool in the healing process. I rejoiced in the Lord as I listened to Greg play the piano.
We have read the Bible, prayed, and watched Christian television. We were blessed to hear some great messages. One that I really liked was the one about the Prayer of Jabez. It is the kind of prayer that God answers. This story is recorded in 1 Chron 4:9-10:
9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain." 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.
NIV
We are grateful to God for every prayer that has been answered as well as many other blessing that God has graciously bestowed upon us.
Wayne Butler drove to KFC in Winder and got our supper. Greg and I both like original dark meat with green beans and potato with gravy and a biscuit. Of course, Wayne purchased us a soft drink. It was so good. It is so refreshing to have Christians from our church and other churches ministering to Greg and me. These dear friends do their ministry as a service to us and to God. There ministry is much like that of Epaphroditus whom Paul commends for his care of him when he was a prisoner in Rome. The story is recorded in Philippians 2:25. Paul calls "Epaphroditus a brother, fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger, whom you sent to take care of my needs."
We are getting ready now to watch the Campus Church from Pensacola Christian College called "Rejoice in the Lord." It is viewed on Day Star television. We love the music, especially the hymns and the preaching. Each hour-long service begins with Christ-honoring music and hymns followed by a sermon from God’s Word. Viewers across America and around the world look forward to the preaching ministry of Pastor Jeff Redlin.
Thank you for your cards, letters, emails, and phone calls. We love you all.
On Thursday of this week, February 25, I am to get my second vaccination for COVID-19.
Have a blessed Monday.
