Stephanie Ellen Morgan was born at the Army Madigan General Hospital at Fort Lewis, Washington, when her father, Chaplain, First Lieutenant, Hugh H. Morgan, USAF was stationed at McChord AFB, Washington on November 18, 1966. This was Hugh's first assignment as an Air Force chaplain.
Stephanie was a dedicated first grade and kindergarten public school teacher for 21 years. She taught at Statham Elementary School in Barrow County, Georgia. Her battle with stage IV cancer ended in victory when she passed from the vale of this life into the presence of Jesus on August 3, 2012. She died in peace in the presence of her family and close friends at Athens Regional Medical Center.
It is noteworthy that her father, Hugh Morgan, completed his 3 year commitment to the United Marine Corps at Quantico, VA, on August 3, 1956. While serving as a Marine, God called Hugh to be a military chaplain.
Hugh, Melvine and Greg continue to grieve the loss of Stephanie. We honor her life and legacy as one who loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul, and loved to worship. Her impact upon the lives of hundreds of people has been phenomenal. Her love for children and her call of God to teach them was unparalleled.
