Science Recognizes The Power Of Prayer

According to an article in Daily Encouraging Word on Saturday, May 21, they quoted this Scripture recorded in Philippians 4:6, CEV: “Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your…requests to God.”
We are instructed in God's Word to pray about everything.
It is encouraging to learn that modern science is now recognizing the value and power of prayer. From their research they are discovering evidence that is hard to refute.
A study that was conducted in 2014 by The Mind Health Report revealed that people who have quiet prayer time, who are engaged in intercessory prayer, and who are involved in church activities are healthier and live longer.
It is most revealing when researchers from Florida State University found that praying for somebody increases that person's readiness to forgive them.
Another study from the University of Miami the researchers discovered that prayer and religious practices improve one's ability to pursue and achieve long-term goals.
Researchers from Columbia University found that people who value religion and regularly attend church are 90 percent less likely to suffer from depression than their nonreligious peers.
Thank God for these researchers who have validated the importance of faith, prayer, and church involvement.
I want to thank the Lord for two ladies in our church who are in charge of the prayer requests, one by texting and the other one by telephone calls.
Other prayer groups are essential to our church and community. I think of the Tuesday morning Ladies Bible study and prayer group who lists their prayer requests and records answers to prayers. It is an ongoing document from the fervent prayers of our ladies who meet at our church with several ladies from other churches. Every Sunday morning before church two couples meet for prayer to pray for the pastor and the people who will worship that day. Our pastor has a special prayer meeting on Wednesdays evenings where they spend time in prayer for our church and community.
We are in city with the University of Georgia and other colleges. Youth are coming to the Lord and we must prepare now for the influx of these precious students and workers.
