Ruth Leckie Martin Queen, 93, of Newton, NC passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at Trinity Village in Hickory, NC.
Born May 14, 1923, Ruth was the daughter of the late Arch and Alice Williams Martin. Ruth was the oldest living member of Living Word Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Queen; two brothers, Howard and Tom Martin; and sister, Edna Campbell.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, the Rev. Larry Queen and wife, Linda of Newton; three grandchildren, Larry Queen Jr. and wife, Carol of Newport News, VA, Melinda Bookman and husband, Chris of Mt. Airy, NC, Shane Queen and wife, Tara of Brandon, FL; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Lucille Ward of Maiden, NC.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 13, at 2 p.m., at Living Word Church in Maiden, NC with the Revs. Larry Queen, Billy Phipps, and Pastor Rick Haug officiating.
Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service.
