Mrs. Ruby Elouise (Garris) White, age 83, of Franklin County, Georgia, died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Pruitt Health – Athens Heritage.
Born April 27, 1933, in Wayne County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Blanch (Howell) Garris. She was the wife of the late Edward Franklin White, Jr. She received a Master’s degree in Education and retired from Guilford County Schools in North Carolina. She was a member of the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Ruby loved Emmanuel College where she met her husband Frank and she was very proud of her status as a Golden Grad. She was passionately involved in ministry in her local church and community and for 45 years, she was a beloved missionary to the Big Cove and Soco Churches in Cherokee, NC. She will always be remembered for her love and generosity for others.
She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law: Mary & Michael Tarillion of Charlotte, NC and Carol & David Moore of Franklin Springs, GA; sister: Carol Garris Yeatts; grandchildren: Zachary & Lindsey Moore, Micah & Yariana Moore, Daniel Moore, Kirsten & Christopher Atherton, and Merrie Karole Tarillion; and great-grandchildren: Ansley Moore, Hannah Moore, and Emerson Moore.
The memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Emmanuel Pentecostal holiness Church in Dry Fork, VA.
The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emmanuel College, P. O. Box 129, Franklin Springs, GA 30639.
