I need to catch up today on the news at the Morgan home.
On Friday, we had a busy day. Bonne Bender had washed and dried our clothes. Her daughter Sunshine, who is in her last semester of Nursing School at Athens Tech, folded them and placed them neatly in a large new garbage bag. Sam Bender, Bonnie's husband and a master mechanic brought the clothes to our home, and repaired the brakes on my rollator walker. He used bicycle cables. I have to use a walker to walk. Our caregiver placed the clothes in appropriate places, some in my bedroom and the others in Greg's.
My pastor, Terry Kesling, called to inform me he was making a visit to see Greg and me. It is always a joy to see him and to talk about the ministry God if giving to him and his wife, Pam. In July he and Pam will have served 4 years as our pastor. Terry is the nephew of June Carter (without the Cash) Canavesio. We are pleased to have them to lead us. They are wonderful people. We believe they are keepers.
One of our caregivers organized our pantry. She, a mother of a two-year old daughter, did a superb job--Copacetic. It looks beautiful. It is wonderful to see everything arranged in groups in perfect order. It hasn't been like this since Melvine got sick and passed away. Now, our job is to make sure it stays that way.
Greg continues to favor his lower back. He has a herniated disc. He needs your prayers for his healing. He still has a catheter foley. He hopes to get that out when he goes back to see his urologist. Our caregiver has moved a cushion in our love seat to raise the seat up higher so he doesn't have a much to get up and sit down. He is walking with the aid of a walker.
Greg prepared our breakfast on Saturday. I prepared our supper on Friday night using my Meals on Wheels. The microwave and the toaster oven are excellent for me to handle.
We are keeping warm and are comfortable. We pray for those people who are without power and are cold and hungry.
I correspond with a number of people. For one example, Bishop Wesley Russ called me on Saturday from Coco Beach, FL. He is visiting with his brother, Richard, who is the pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Church there. In July, Richard will be the pastor at this church for 43 years. He is an excellent preacher and pastor of the people God has given him to lead.
Wayne Butler came over later in the evening to bring in a large box with two boxes inside of it with bags of Tena disposal men's underwear for men like me who have a problem with incontinence. Neither Greg nor I could handle it. June, Wayne's wife, had ordered these items for me to be shipped to our home. They are wonderful friends who show us kindness and grace day after day.
Thank you for your prayers for us as well as cards, emails and calls.
