Greg and I are pressing forward toward the goal line. God is so good, and He is answering your prayers for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, care, and prayers.
Greg and I did the breakfast. He prepared the cereal and blueberries with the sweet milk, 2%. I boiled a couple of eggs, cracked and peeled them, and served them. So, we got the vitamins we need and the protein.
I was privileged to talk with Dr. Tom Murray, the president of Southwestern Christian University. We had worked together when I was the president. Our friendship has flourished over the intervening years. God has prepared him to serve Southwestern for such a time as this. He is a faithful man with an excellent spirit and a background in Christian Higher Education. We had prayer together. We have lots of memories of the college in the '70s. I served only two years. My love for Southwestern is deep and I want the university to excel in every area. Students have gone from Southwestern to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to bless the world in their faithful service.
I received emails from various leaders, and one from pastor Barbara Tengan from Hawaii. In fact, I get her church newsletter and I responded via email to let her know I had gotten it. I met Barbara in Los Angeles at the Centennial of the Asuza Street Celebration at a seminar that Dr. Vinson Synan conducted. I had heard about Barbara for many years from her classmates at Emmanuel College. I recognized her at a glance and introduced myself to her.
Our caregiver came at four on Monday. She prepared a late lunch and has cooked Lasagna for our supper. She is terrific and takes care of us well.
We stay in touch with Hobert and Marguerite Howard who live in Rolling Green Retirement Village, Greenville, SC. They are prayer partners.
I am grateful too for my contact with my cousin Mary Ann Shropshire Weeks, the wife of Everett Weeks. They reside in Richmond, VA. They pray for us and with us over the telephone often.
