Bobbi Bishop came to Holmes in October 1964 as a freshman right out of high school. She graduated in June 1967, almost 53 years ago! Those three years as a student gave her a great love and appreciation for Holmes and its faculty and staff and helped prepare her for God’s call to return to Holmes some years later.
Bobbi has been married 52 years to her loving and supportive husband, Eddie. They have been blessed with three children; Scott Bishop, Director at Fox Carolina; Michele Seckinger and son-in-law, Aaron Seckinger, business owners in Greenville/Greer area; and Jimmy Bishop, Pickens County Deputy and daughter-in-law, Amber Myers Bishop, director of Kids “R” Kids Learning Academy, Greenville/Greer. They have eight wonderful grandchildren, Alex, Josh, Austin, Christian, Lauren, Layne, Jeb, and Myers, who are the joy and delight of Grammy and Papa. Bobbi says their quiver is full, and they are so blessed.
She has joyfully served God at Holmes for almost 39 years now. She has worked in several capacities over the years at the College. One of her positions was as a babysitter for several of the faculty/staff children, Nancy Shealy, Stephen White and Kari-Beth McKinney. She has worked as an assistant to the faculty, assisted in the business office, Admission Director, and assisted the Academic Dean and Registrar. She has been the Executive Assistant to four Presidents of the College – Dr. Waters, Dr. Beatty, Bishop Leggett and current President, Chris Thompson. She also serves now as the Registrar.
In her words – “The call of God on my life has kept me these almost 39 years at Holmes Bible College. I love being involved in what God is doing. There is nothing more exciting and fulfilling than watching young people grow and mature into the person He has called them to be. Holmes is God’s school and the future is brighter than ever before. I am looking forward to many more men and women who are called of God coming to Holmes to be equipped for Christian life, ministry and service, to help fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. In the words of President Leggett – The best is yet to come!”
In my words,
“Bobbi Bishop has been a major help, life savior, and blessing in my first nearly three years. I salute her. She has been invaluable in this major change in my life. She IS Holmes Bible College.” – D. Chris Thompson, President
