I knew that Jace Milligan was a gifted public speaker. I have heard him preach and teach on many occasions.
Melvine and I enjoyed traveling to his church, Living Way Fellowship Pentecostal Holiness Church in Monroe, GA, on several occasions when I was the director/ecclesiastical endorser of Chaplains Ministries, IPHC.
I knew in my heart that Jace Milligan would bring a fresh word from the Bible. He did not disappoint me. His Scripture lesson and text is recorded in Judges 6:11-16: "And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites."
12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him (Gideon), and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
14 And the LORD looked upon Him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
16 And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

Jace gave a concise background for this Scripture passage recorded n the Book of Judges. The people of God has sinned and turned away from Him time and time again. They found themselves in trouble, and when they cried unto the Lord He delivered them over and over again and gave them judges.
Gideon was threshing wheat in hiding when the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and talked with him. He was startled at the greeting: "The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valor."
He talked about name changes. He remembered when the men's organization of the IPHC was called Men's Fellowship. He thought when they were trying to come up with a new name that "Mighty Men of Valor" would be a good name. However, he said no one ever consulted him about his thoughts. He went on to say that he remembered when the women's organization was called "Woman's Auxiliary." He said he had heard that Dr. C. Y. Melton, former president of Emmanuel College, said that the Woman's Auxiliary was so organized that the Pentecostal Holiness Church should join them.
He told our men, I was included, that we are mighty men of valor. He reminded us of the importance of every man present, and that each of us can make a difference.
Jace had every point to begin with a "W."
First, Gideon was a worshiper. We can all do that. Not all of us have been called to be an evangelist. However, we can do the work of an evangelist by telling others of what our lives were like before we were born again, and hat they were like after we were saved. But we are all called to worship God.
Second, Gideon was a Warrior. He described Gideon in his exploits in battle. We have a batter to be fought, and a victory to be won.
Third, Gideon was a Worker. He was threshing wheat. Men who are present here are workers and we can all do something to help the church and our community.
Four, Gideon was a Witness. He tore down idol worshiper's place of worship and confessed his faith in God. He stepped up to the plate and invited others to join him to rid his community of false worship.
I cannot adequately do Jace justice in telling about his message. I did not take any notes and rely on my memory.
I asked several men what they thought about Jace and his message. Here are some quotes:
"Jace was an impressive speaker He said what he wanted to say and sat down."
"I really enjoyed hearing Jace Milligan today. I am glad he was our chosen speaker. If I lived in Monroe, GA, I would attend his church."
"I was encouraged and felt that God was speaking to me through Jace and the message he gave to us."
