FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA -- Pam Martin-Wells has been named Head Coach of the upcoming Bass Fishing team at Emmanuel College. Martin-Wells joins Emmanuel after a very successful career as a professional angler.
Martin-Wells hails from Bainbridge, Georgia with her husband Steven Wells. She is the women's all-time leading money winner and is a 27 time Classic qualifier. Some of her most successful accomplishments include placing 22nd at the 2010 Bassmaster Classic, winning the inaugural Women's Bassmaster Tour Championship, and being named Angler of the Year 8 different times. Martin-Wells has appeared on four bass fishing magazine covers in addition to being featured in several magazine articles. She has also made several television appearances including Bassmaster, Bass Edge, and Georgia Traveler.
"Pam's wealth of bass fishing knowledge and experience will play a vital role in our inaugural bass fishing season," Says Athletic Director Nate Moorman. "She has a lot to offer our future anglers and we're excited to see how far she will take this program."
The Bass Fishing team will kick off their inaugural season next fall. The program will compete in top nationally recognized tournaments, such as the FLW Outdoors College Series, Carhartt Bassmaster College Bass Fishing Series.
