It is without a doubt in my mind and heart that today, Palm Sunday and the week that is ahead of us is the Week that God has chosen to make it possible for us to be redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. There is no other week in all of history so important. We call it Holy Week.
Issac asked his father, Abraham where is the lamb for the burnt offering? Abraham answered, "God Himself will provide the Lamb for the burnt offering, my son" (Genesis 22:7, 8).
It was John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus, who said that Jesus is "the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29).
Some 2,000 years ago Jesus rode the colt of a donkey (an animal that had never been broken) into Jerusalem in what is called Palm Sunday. Dr. Frank Tunstall has written a message called "Hosannah." The crowd of people took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!" (John 12:12-13).
A few days later some of these very people were crying "Crucify Him!"
Jesus in his suffering on the Cross received the wrath of God in all of it furry. He became sin on our behalf. He took our place so that we will never be separated from God. He died for your sins and mine. We have a choice to make either receive and serve Jesus, or go the other way which will lead to destruction and ultimately separation from God eternally.
It is my prayer if you do not know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord that you will receive Him this very hour.
It is my prayer that you and your family will make your way to your local church to attend Sunday school and morning worship. Expect God to be there and people ready to worship and receive the Word of God proclaimed by the pastor. Believe God to act in supernatural ways to meet the needs of the people. Trust God to bring many people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Today will be the best Palm Sunday we have ever experienced.
