We are grateful to Ken Phillips who came to our home to take us in his car to church on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
It is amazing what a year can do in one's life. Melvine was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer one year ago in September 2018. Today, after a year she is alive and well enough to go to church. To God be the glory for the great things He has done.
We have learned and are learning how to put our trust in God. Through it all we have discovered that God still performs miracles and heals our bodies.
God blessed the efforts of our people who had invited others to be our guests at worship on Sunday. It was Game Day. We had 87 people in church.
Pastor Terry Kesling preached the most compassionate message I have heard him preach since coming to our church some 2 years ago. Prayer was being offered up as we worshiped. Three people came to be saved and responded to the altar service. Others were blessed.
It was good to see again David Pearson. He has a brilliant mind. Several years ago he was in a car accident and he has experienced paralysis in his body. I encouraged him never to give up and that God will fulfill his dreams. He has a lot of projects but needs skilled people to help him.
Following morning worship, the people were encouraged to go to Stephanie's Place, our fellowship hall, for sandwiches, chips and dips. They called it tailgating. A goodly number of people enjoy a time of eating and fellowship.
Melvine, Greg, and I wanted to go out to eat. It is rare now that we go anywhere. So, Sundays are a special time for us to eat at a nice restaurant. Today, we went to Outbacks. And it was delicious.
After dining, Greg drove us home and we all crashed by taking our Sunday afternoon naps.
Today, Monday, I have an appointment with our family doctor, Alice Edwards, MD. Greg will drive me and Bonnie Bender will come and stay with Melvine while we are gone. Audrey Cox stayed with Melvine on Friday afternoon while Greg and I went shopping at Home Depot. What a blessing these ladies are to us.
We are blessed to have a good family doctor.
Thank you again for allowing us to come into your home, office or workplace today with Hugh's News.
May this be a good day for all of you and a great week.

Arlette Revells designed and printed these ministry cards. I am now in my second thousand giving them to people, one at a time.
