Graduation was held on Saturday morning, April 30th. It proved a delightful day. I am letting the day speak for itself. Enjoy!
Let me say, it was a joy to have Dr. Eddie Allen speak at graduation. He spoke a marvelous message focusing on the four Hebrew children of Daniel. The words were challenging. Dr. Allen is pastor of Tremont Church of God. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Holmes. He is a member of the Executive Committee and serves as Treasurer. He is so valuable to the College.
Fall Term
The 125th term of the College begins on August 1st. We are excited.
We would like to begin our new degree program for B.E.A.M. (Biblical Education for Adults in Ministry). This is a major step forward.
BEAM Degree – BTH
This degree is 90 hours and only for BEAM students. This degree will be awarded to the student that completes each of five module programs. The modules may be completed as a stand-alone program on campus or approved church and/or by DVD, Zoom, or online.
The Six Modules are:
· Pastoral Ministries
· Pastoral Care and Counseling
· Christian Education
· Church Growth and Planting
· Biblical Studies I
· Biblical Studies II
Each module will be comprised of six classes. A certificate may be earned for each module and the BTh degree with completion of five modules.
The BTh may be earned in five semesters.
This program is very individually oriented and requires careful planning.
A New Holmes History
Dr. Stan York, of North Carolina, has been commissioned to write a history of Holmes Bible College. Dr. York serves as the Archivist of the Cornerstone Conference. He is a friend of Holmes.
Holmes Bible College is a miracle! The story must be told. The goal is to publish a book of 125 pages. Every student will be required to read it. The book will be available for sale. It will be a major miracle to keep the history this small.
Our basic preparation cost is $10,000.00. We are beginning by faith! We will publish when funds are available. I would love to have the book by August of 2023. Please pray!
Golf Tournament
Again, I must thank the Lord and the leaders of the first ever James D. Leggett Golf Tournament. Bishop Ray Boggs of Spirit Life and Pastor Bill Rose of the First Church, North Carolina, led the event. To date some $72,000.00 has been received in honor of Bishop James D. Leggett and for Holmes Bible College. Pledges now total over $77,000.00. These funds have proven to be so crucial in helping us get through the summer. The summer months ARE “lean” months for the Bible College. Lord, be our Jehovah-Jireh!

Summer Projects
Pray for the successful completion of several projects. We hope to finish the repair at the parsonage. The increase in building costs has caused an overrun of $5,000. It will take that amount to finish.
We are repairing several air condition units at the Men’s Dorm and Administration Building. We praise the Lord that money has been given for those repairs. We express deep appreciation to Jack and Jane Shaw.
We are also involved in carpet cleaning, inside painting, and other repairs at the various buildings. We are having to do some extensive roof repairs to the Ellenberg Building. That cost was estimated $5,000.00. We have a donor on that one. Praise Him!
We are working on computer repair and updates. These we always have before us. They are a constant challenge.
In all these items we trust the Lord!
Student Enrollment
We must get our student enrollment up. The pandemic hit us hard. We dropped from eighty-one students to fifty-one last semester. We operate best with current resources when our enrollment is between one hundred and one hundred fifty. We need our dorms full.
Help us pray and spread the word. We have new brochures available. I am calling on all alumni and friends of the College to help us.
We are stepping up our recruitment! Finally, we are able to travel again. Yet the travel expenses are astronomical. Brother Bruce Hagee and I will be traveling to conferences and camp meetings of several denominations. We have students who will be going to youth camps and Youth Quest!
I will be traveling to churches two Sundays a month. I would deeply appreciate some invitations. My purpose is to recruit, etc. I am booked for May but have openings for two Sundays in June. I am open for the fall – September, October, November. Give me a call – 405-397-7111.
