It is with great regret that I learned of Joe's home-going. He was such a great part of the Piedmont Camp Meeting which I attended for some 15 or 17 years. He was a master musician with great abilities to improvise on the spur of the moment. I once had a hymn that I learned early in my Christian life -- "Let me Lose Myself and Find it Lord in Thee," but I didn't have the music for it but I remembered all four verses. As I sang the song, Joe put the music on a music sheet along with the words, and I have been able to sing it with a piano accompaniment time and time again. Harriett's dad pastored my home church, Swansonville, when I was converted. A great family on both sides. God bless his memory to all of us.
