Hugh, did you write this? Good Article.
(Answer: No, I did not write it. I thought it was thought provoking and insightful and timely. I cannot lay claim to writing it.)
I especially like Point 2 about having lost the ability to have the songs fixed in our minds. I have always pondered as to what songs the younger generation today will lean on when they reach an older age. For me it is no problem. The songs and hymns of my youth are solidly ingrained in my spirit, mind, and memory. The music of today is so ever-changing, new songs, varied arrangements, etc, that I question how well they will be "fixed" in the minds of our people as the years roll on.
