Words From Our President
Betty and I have reached the point in our lives to seriously think about our legacy. We consider ourselves far from being done in ministry BUT we have walked a lengthy journey. (May I say the journey has been blessed and very rewarding. To walk the journey with her has been especially rewarding. We celebrated 48 years together on June 15th.)
I read a good thought recently. David Green, founder, and CEO of Hobby Lobby has encouraged Christians to “stockpile treasures in heaven.” He is working from the verse, “For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also” (Matthew 6:21). In his book, A Generous Life, he made this interesting observation, “Legacy is not just what we leave behind, but what we send ahead.” How true! I am inclined to agree with him.
Perhaps the reader has read these lines from the great missionary C.T. Studd, “Only one life, ‘twill soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.” (1860-1931).
All of us should certainly be concerned about the lives we are leaving behind. I desire all to know that I was a good man, who loved God fervently, and served Him to the best of his ability.
My desire is to also stockpile treasures in heaven. What am I sending ahead? Is my life making a difference? Am I currently stockpiling in heaven? These questions certainly concern me.
I believe that Betty and I are making a difference. We are diligently ministering through Holmes Memorial Church and Holmes Bible College. We are ministering AND are investing. We are investing in the lives of another generation. They will go where we have not gone. They will change lives. They will present Christ. We believe in multiplication, not in addition.
May our stockpile grow and may seeds produce fruit. May they be five-fold, ten-fold, and even one hundred-fold.
Betty and I have traveled extensively already this summer. We are at the half-way point of our summer. We have been to conference meetings, camp meetings, and to several churches. Our purpose is to spread the good news of the College, recruit students, and to raise support for the College.
My schedule is getting full. Do call me for some open church dates in September and November. We could bring some students. I have only two open dates per month. (I am still a pastor!)
HELP US RECRUIT! Direct students to the website to view our new video and to complete an application. The Lord is hearing our prayers. New students are signing up. We need at least 100. Call us for copies of the new brochure.

A New Holmes History
Dr. Stan York, of North Carolina, has been commissioned to write a history of Holmes Bible College. Dr. York serves as the Archivist of the Cornerstone Conference. He is a friend of Holmes.
Holmes Bible College is a miracle! The story must be told. The goal is to publish a book of 125 pages. Every student will be required to read it. The book will be available for sale.
Our basic preparation cost is $10,000.00. We are beginning by faith! We will publish when funds are available. I would love to have the book by August of 2023. Please pray! May the Lord lay this on someone's heart.

Holmes Mexico
I traveled to Mexicali, Mexico in mid-April of this year. Holmes Bible College, Mexico had the graduation for the first graduating class. There were some 20 graduates. Missionary Ron Roy, Regional Director, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, has been very instrumental in starting this Bible College.
Dr. Julio Cesar Villanueva is the president of the Bible College there and is Bishop of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church Conference. I am thrilled at the progress being made there. Holmes in Greenville, serves as the Mother College offering advice, syllabi, course structure, etc.
Holmes Fall Schedule
125th Term
August 1 Faculty Training
Freshmen Arrive
2 Returning Students Arrive
3 Classes Begin
14-17 Opening Revival
Bishop Ray Boggs, Pastor Randy Hill
Oct 6 Vision4Education
8-12 Fall Break
Nov 18,21,22 Fall Exams
New Sustainers
I praise the Lord that several new sustainers joined our Donor List in May and early June. A sustainer is one who prays for the College and sends at least $1200 per year. $1200 last school year was the cost of operating the College for one day (minus construction cost). I do not know what the cost will be next year. Food cost is up over 10% this summer. Gasoline is nearly $5.00 per gallon. Meeting our budget is quite a challenge. We trust the Lord to use His servants. Jehovah-Jireh still uses obedient people.
Be blessed. Please schedule a time to come and see us.
